This is what those alphas do not understand: I have no interest in life, in my existence. We are forced to live, because suicide is not easy, it is painful and horrific. For a Christian, it is not an option anyway, and faith is not a choice, it feels kind of forced too.
The “effort” required to have a child is not even comparable to comitting suicide. Since God knows that no one in his right mind would bring someone into this world if not via lust—which is irrational—, He had to curse us with an instinct that apparently rules man’s world.
Unlike with money and power, this drive is even responsible for us having to exist. Often enough, there is not even love involved. Needless to say that today, we are witnessing the worst possible in terms of sexualization of society and chaos regarding the family. Where children are the victims even.
The New Testament does not give answers as to why we exist or what this is all about; at its core, it teaches morality, how God wants man to live. Which is ignored nowadays anyway, leading to the ghastly state of affairs we now have to endure for the unforeseeable future.
