PZ Myers is a horrible, vulgar person, kind of trashy.

Yes, there is not much to write about this guy. I first came across him before 2010, at that time I was an atheist as well. However, like the so-called New Atheists, who are pretty much laughable, I took no interest in PZ either.

Now, as a Christian, and a former reader of Vox Day’s blog, who got into contact with him, too, I watched a video of him I could not finish because of his vulgarity. His blog is unreadable as well; it seems he is a full-blown Social Justice Warrior at heart. Even thinking that the US needs mass immigration due to its aging population.

One commenter even wrote, in a holier-than-thou attitude typical for many commenters on blogs, that (paraphrasing) mass immigration is nothing new, we just need to adapt, as it has always been — the latter sentence he repeated again in a comment with maybe five sentences or so, absolutely insufferable.

Big, fat lie, of course. Mass immigration never existed in this form, and here, Vox Day is obviously correct in rejecting it. At best, what history shows us is blood baths whenever large numbers of people were moving around. Even Martin van Creveld, politically of the old left, had to accept this in his essay War and Migration, which was published in There Will Be War Volume X: History’s End. You do not even need a lot of historical knowledge to understand this, a bit of common sense should suffice.

Regarding the video I tuned it, it was some atheist convention where he basically was using foul language in every other sentence or so. I do not need to watch this, especially since insults are often enough used by people who do not have a good argument against whatever they are rejecting. The topic being something along the lines of are religion and science compatible? or so.

They obviously are. If he does not understand this, then he just shows how uneducated he is, which has to be pointed out given his arrogance. Most average people are not as horribly obnoxious regarding such questions, even if they are not Christians. Myers has to be rejected, listening to such trash is torture.

Let us read some escolios by Don Colacho instead:

The modern world will not be punished.
It is the punishment.

An atheist is respectable as long as he does not teach that the dignity of man is the basis of ethics and that love for humanity is the true religion.

Nothing makes clearer the limits of science than the scientist’s opinions about any topic that is not strictly related to his profession.

If one does not believe in God, the only honest alternative is vulgar utilitarianism.
The rest is rhetoric.

There are moments when the worst failing, the worst offense, the worst sin, seems to be bad manners.

Why deceive ourselves? Science has not answered a single important question.

In no previous age did the arts and letters enjoy greater popularity than in ours. Arts and letters have invaded the school, the press, and the almanacs.
No other age, however, has produced such ugly objects, nor dreamed such coarse dreams, nor adopted such sordid ideas. It is said that the public is better educated. But one does not notice.
